In addition to the surrounding scenery, Villarroya de los Pinares stands out for its historical legacy that stretches back to the Spanish reconquest. The old town houses important buildings that were declared Historic-Artistic-Sites in 1982. Worthy of mention are the XVI century Gothic church, the ‘Nuestra Señora de Loreto’ Chapel, the Town Hall building or the baroque style ‘Casa Peña’, home of Bishop Francisco Peña.
Spanish cured ham, tinned goods, cured meats, sweets and home-made pastries are some of the typical products from the culinary tradition of this beautiful town.
